Question 3:
Diagram 2 shows a pyramid with a square base, PQRT.


It is given that S is the midpoint of RT and V is 3.5 m vertically above point W.
(a) Name the angle of elevation of V from S.

(b) Hence, calculate the value of the angle of elevation.

(b)
$$ \begin{aligned} \tan \theta & =\frac{3.5}{2} \\ \theta & =60^{\circ} 15^{\prime} \end{aligned} $$


Question 4:
Diagram 3 shows information of Suzie’s medical insurance policy.


Given the cost of Suzie’s surgery was RM38000, find
(a) the surgery cost after the deductible,
[1 mark]

(b) the medical cost borne by Suzie.
[2 marks]


Answer:
(a)
The surgery cost after the deductible
= RM38000 – RM3000
= RM35000

(b)
$$ \begin{aligned} &\text { The medical cost borne by Suzie }\\ &\begin{aligned} & =\frac{25}{100} \times \text { RM35000+RM3000 } \\ & =\text { RM11750 } \end{aligned} \end{aligned} $$
